Fun Facts

1. Our machine shop is a converted chemistry lab. In it, we found Penicillin that expired in 1967.
2. Our teacher speaks 5 languages and owns converse tennis shoes in 13 different colors
3. Our team has over 85 team members. They get a collective 20 hours of sleep a night.
4. One of our members in on the junior Olympic team for fencing.
5. Members of our team play on JV/Varsity sports such as baseball, cross country, track, basketball, volleyball, swimming, water polo, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, fencing, crew, tennis, boxing, judo, and sambo.
6. Additionally our members participate in band, dance company, drama, musical theater, and choir.
7. We have a couple of magicians and DJ’s on our team.
8. We have two police officers in training in the explorer law enforcement program.
9. 9 team members are in student government.
10. Languages spoken on our team: Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Hebrew, Farsi, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, German, Italian, Yiddish, Portuguese, Romanian, Tagalog, Sanskrit, Latin, 25 programming languages, Binary …. Oh …. and … uhhh …. English.
11. Our co-president eats red meat 4 out of 3 meals a day.
12. One of our team members only has one pair of jeans and he has never washed them.
13. Last year, our team made over $60 with its recycling program.
14. The team is a proud sponsor of the world-famous Jambulance.
15. The MorTorq Monkey likes virgin Piña Coladas and long walks on the beach.
16. Team members have allergies to the following products: peanuts, walnuts, milk, dust, weeds, cats, dogs, bees, blue cheese, penicillin, mosquitoes, wheat.
