| Message: | Sorry for the lack of updates lately, this time of year we work nonstop. The game this year is called "Overdrive." It involves hurdling, herding, and racing. Our design process took us longer than we expected, but we have finally agreed upon what we think is our final concept. We have almost completed our drivetrain and chassis and we even started working on a cart to carry our robot this year. We built our own practice overpass out of PVC so that we could get an idea of what the challenge is all about. Our design for the arm is finalized and construction is commencing. Programming the drivetrain is done and everything else is a work in progress. Look for updates in the future. Only 28 days to ship! |

| Message: | The final competition was surreal from a driver's standpoint. We tested new strategies during the quarter finals, breezed through the semi finals, and were seconds away from winning the whole competition. It was heart breaking to see the robot break down during crunch time but, that's what FIRST is all about. I am very proud of the team for winning the spirit award and advancing to finals. We've learned valuable lessons that will help us perform well in Nationals and prepare ourselves for years to come. Thank you Colorado for an amazing time and great people. The competition today finished off great. On our last match (#7) our robot functioned amazingly and we were able to get 3 ringers on the rack. With the help of 2036 and 207 we got 6 total ringers for a score of 24 to 4. Our best score today was 52 during our 3rd match. | Message: | Most of this competition is luck, and today we sure were lucky. In our first round, Zach threw a ringer onto the rack, one of only a few today. Then we went on to have limited problems, and by the end of the day, our robot was looking strong. But building and competing are only a portion of the competition, we met so many new people from North Dakota to Kansas. I started out this day quite sceptically, I mean, we are from California and we awoke this morning to SNOW, and I was freaking out, I mean snow is, like, really, really cold. But in the end, it all turned out to be good, I think we ended up having a 3 team snowball fight, only ending when our hands were numb and red. I can't wait until tomorrow for more robots, more bonding, and more FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We lost our next two matches as a result of technical errors. During lunch we fixed the bugs, got some practice time in and kicked our robot into gear. You guys have done an amazing job so far this season; completely outdoing us alumni! We are all very proud of you; winning animation award two years in a row is a feat by itself, but adding the Website and Imagery awards is simply incredible. There are very few teams in FIRST who have had such a strong impact on the awards ceremony the first day. Just understand however, that tomorrow will be even more important if you want to win Engineering Inspiration/Chairman's Award. Speak politely to everyone that comes by your booth, help out teams that need it, and support your own team. Remember gracious professionalism in the playoffs; if a call does not go your way or if another team is not gracious, remember what the competition is about- working together and having fun. From the match scores online and what I have heard from a few members it sounds like your robot will do very well tomorrow. Since you already won the Imagery Award you probably don't need me to tell you that support in the stands is vital to your team image and help pumps up your drivers.
