"Robotics is more than just building robots; it's about building lives," says Team 1515's President of Building and Co. Founder, Zach Kahn. A senior at Beverly, Zach has been enthusiastically involved in robotics since his freshman year. Certain responsibilities come along with the title of Building President, of which include making sure groups meet their deadlines, ensuring that all members work together cooperatively and productively, and positively representing the team on any occasion. When asked why he is so involved with robotics, Zach responded, "I have always been interested in science and technology. I grew up playing with Legos, building remote control cars, and now engineering Robots." Initially, Zach had wanted to be on the science team and compete as a science Olympiad but a friend named Nick Sarnoff, another founder of the team, convinced Zach to join the newly formed team. Zach was instantly hooked. As Zach gets ready to start his anticipated college life, he is unsure of the career path he wants to pursue, however, he wants a job in business, engineering, or law. Zach plans to leave Beverly's highly acclaimed robotics team with a sense of passion and devotion. To future MorTorq members, Zach gives you some words of wisdom: "Do not be ashamed to be interested in Robotics, or to be labeled a 'nerd.' Robotics is all about promoting a positive connotation for the education of whatever you may be interested in. It's cool to be a nerd!"
